The capital of Spain, Madrid is an elegant city with bags of style, and attitude in abundance. The city of Madrid dominates Spanish Culture in every conceivable way, the main museums, the best football team, the best shopping, and the most stunning monuments.
With 500 years as an imperial capital, it is no surprise that Madrid has some of the most impressive buildings that you will see anywhere, from the stylish boulevards of the centre of the city to the large parks, Madrid is a city where you never feel crowded in, and where there is always something to look at.
The main attraction for visitors to Madrid entirely depends on your own taste: for some it is the Prado Museum, one of a handful of world class galleries and museums in the city; for others the chance to watch los Galacticos - Real Madrid in the enormous Bernabeau Stadium; for many, the charm of Madrid is in the hospitality and warmth of the Madrilènes - the people who live there; while for some, the chance to explore the beautiful countryside of the Castille Y Leon area surrounding the city is the most important reason for coming.
No matter why you visit Madrid, one thing is for certain; you will see enough of interest in this great city and its surroundings that you will want to return again and again.
