The island of Majorca, or Mallorca, is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the Mediterranean, and has attracted tourists from all over Europe for generations. With its legendary combination of beautiful beaches, great weather, stunning scenery and rich culture, Mallorca is the perfect destination for almost any kind of holiday.

Whether you want to lie on a beach and soak up the sun, visit ancient ruins and be amazed by the content of museums, or even spend time exploring small villages in beautiful countryside, Mallorca is a great place to visit, and offers something for everybody.

The capital of the island, Palma is a bustling city. The main port on the island, and also the location of the airport, most visitors to Mallorca will find themselves in the city at least a couple of times during their stay.

The city has a number of excellent museums and art galleries to explore, as well as being a good place to pick up a few bargains in the shopping centres. The skyline dominating La Seu Cathedral is the cultural and spiritual heart of Palma de Mallorca, and the richly decorated interior of this beautiful big church is something that every visitor to the city should see.
